Our Mission
The Dallas is Love Archival Project was established to ensure that the rich civic history of local mutual aid and grassroots neighborhood advocacy is preserved for future generations. For years, the original initiative served as a cornerstone of community engagement, bridging the gaps where municipal resources often fell short.
We believe that understanding how neighbors successfully organized food drives, advocated for safe housing, and executed emergency storm responses is vital to preserving the unique, resilient identity of Dallas County. By maintaining this ledger, we hope to inspire future organizers and tenant advocates.
Statement of Archival Independence
This website is an independently operated, non-profit digital repository dedicated exclusively to historical preservation and civic advocacy. The Dallas is Love Archival Project is not maintained by, funded by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the municipal government of the City of Dallas, the Dallas Housing Authority, or any state regulatory agency. All historical photographs, property code references, and civic records hosted on this site are compiled from public domain archives and community submissions for educational purposes.
Contact The Archivists
We welcome submissions from the Dallas community. If you have historical photographs, organizing documents, or personal accounts of local mutual aid efforts that you would like added to the digital repository, please reach out to our volunteer team.
